Prosciutto Picnic Baguette Sandwich
This is an easy picnic sandwich you can easily put together on the day of your outing. I like toasting the baguette so it doesn’t get soggy and it’s nice and crunchy. For an extra crispy baguette spray or paint on some olive oil before baking. I like to cut the baguette into 6 inch pieces lengthwise so it’s already portioned and ready to eat.
Sun dried tomato pesto is delicious, basil pesto would be amazing on this sandwich as well. A little bit of salt adds life to every bite, as the amount of arugula I use takes up a lot of space.
Provolone is amazing because of it’s mild and creamy flavor. I like to get it thin sliced when I can. Brie is also a great cheese to use for baguette sandwiches.
Prosciutto is my favorite so I had to use it for this sandwich, you can add other cured meats too! Salami and capocollo would be great alongside the prosciutto.
Arugula has a beautiful peppery flavor and adds bulk. I love using it in salads and on pizza as well! Wrap your sandwich in parchment or wax paper and enjoy!
